Kwartaaltoetse en eksamens

Die skool kry ‘n enorme hoeveelheid versoeke dat leerders op ander datums as die vasgestelde toets- en eksamendatums die vraestelle aflê.  Elke versoek bly vir ons belangrik, maar die hoeveelheid versoeke raak vir ons onbestuurbaar.  Na aanleiding van die Skolewet rakende afwesigheidsreëlings vir toetse en eksamens, word ‘n leerder slegs verskoon van sodanige toets/eksamen indien so ‘n leerder ‘n doktersbrief, regskennisgewing en/of begrafnisbrief indien.  Indien ‘n leerder sonder die aanvaarbare verskoning afwesig was, sal hy/sy nul vir so ‘n toets/eksamen kry.  Geen leerder kan egter ook toegelaat word om datums van toetse/eksamens te skuif weens vakansiereëlings nie.  Daarom vra ons met vrymoedigheid u begrip vir die skoolprogram.  Die kwartaaltoetsrooster is op ons webwerf beskikbaar sodat u ook u sake daarvolgens kan beplan.  Vir u gerief het ons ook 2013 se skoolkalenderdatums op die webwerf beskikbaar.  Die Novembereksamen vir graad 10 tot 12 word deur die departement opgestel en word ook streng deur hulle gemonitor.

Meneer en Mejuffrou Garsie 2012

Die MMG-kompetisie was, soos gewoonlik, ‘n aand vol glinster en glans.  Bollywood – blink kon in elke detail van die aand ervaar word.

Glans en betowering is deur elke dekoritem, kostuum en beweging uitgestraal.  Ná afloop van beoordeling deur persone soos Wynand Olivier, Janine Truter, Robbie Kruse, Zantie Swanepoel, LJ van Zyl, prof Irma Eloff, Mudinda Denga, Gerrit Pienaar en JJ Harmse was die stemming soos volg:
 

Ons bedank graag elke finalis, ouer, onderwyser, beoordelaar, donateur en borg wat tot die sukses van hierdie spoggeleentheid bygedra het.

Atletiek

Die Hoërskool Helpmekaar se Goue Liga-byeenkoms het op Vrydag 24 Februarie by die Universiteit van Johannesburg se sportstadion plaasgevind.  Die kompetisie was sterk, maar ons atlete het puik vertonings gelewer.

Prestasies 800 en hoër ABSA-punte

Hoërskool Garsfontein gaan as gasheerskool van 2 Maart se A-Bond Interhoër-atletiekbyeenkoms, wat op die Pilditch-stadion plaasvind, optree.  Ons sien met groot afwagting uit na pragtige vertonings deur ons atlete.

English Literature Tour 2013

Die Departement Engels van Hoërskool Garsfontein onderneem ’n opvoedkundige letterkundetoer na Engeland en Skotland in die Aprilvakansie van 2013.  Ouers en leerders wat belangstel om hierdie toer mee te maak, word vriendelik uitgenooi na ’n inligtingsvergadering, wat op Maandag 5 Maart 2012 om 18:30 in die personeelkamer sal plaasvind.  Die leerders het reeds briewe in dié verband ontvang.  Vir meer inligting kan u gerus mnr Tommie Kok by 082 494 9505, of Hierdie e-pos adres is teen spambotte beskerm, jy moet JavaSkrip op jou webblaaier ontsper om dit te kan sien , kontak.

Kunsaas-hengel

Lian de Clerq in gr 10 is verkies om deel te wees van die Junior Protea-span, wat Suid-Afrika op 22 tot 26 Februarie tydens ’n internasionale toernooi teen Swaziland in hierdie uitsonderlike sportsoort verteenwoordig het.  Suid-Afrika se junior span het die toernooi gewen en het ’n goue medalje verower.  Ons is baie trots op hierdie uitsonderlike prestasie deur ’n Garsie!

Judo

Dewan Stemmet en Devon Cook het gedurende Januarie 2012 ’n tiende en negentiende plek by die “Espoir Ope Judo-kampioenskap”, die grootste judotoernooi in Nederland, behaal.  Daar was ongeveer 1 600 deelnemers.  Devan Stemmet het Gauteng Noord op 18 Februarie  tydens die Masakhane-streekskampioenskap by die Universiteit van Johannesburg verteenwoordig.  Hy het ’n eerste plek in die Groep 3 en 4 A-span verwerf en sodoende Gauteng Noord-kleure verwerf.

Krieket

Ons eerste span en die O/14 A’s sluit die kwartaal op ’n hoë noot af.

Ons eerste span klop Dr E G Jansen met 180 lopies.

Garsies kolf eerste en teken 322 lopies aan.

Uitblinkers was Marc de Jager met 52, Johandré Swanepoel met 51 en Juan van Heerden met 63 lopies.

Dr E G Jansen word uitgeboul met 142 lopies.

Juan van Heerden blink uit met 4 paaltjies vir 32 lopies.

Die O/14 A-span klop Waterkloof se O/14 A-span met 50 lopies.

Garsies teken 108 lopies in 30 beurte aan.

Lehan de Kramer moker 31 van 21 balle.

Waterkloof word uitgeboul vir slegs 69 met Lehan de Kramer wat 3 paaltjies vir 3 lopies plattrek.
